Dr. Peter Chen is a skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in wisdom teeth extractions, dental implant surgery, and sedation dentistry. With a calm, patient-centered approach, Dr. Chen is committed to delivering exceptional surgical care and ensuring a smooth, comfortable recovery for every patient.
Dr. Chen earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He then completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital/Bronx Veterans Affairs Hospital, followed by advanced 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at NYU Langone’s NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull program. His surgical rotations included intensive training in anesthesia, ICU, general surgery, ENT, and plastic surgery.
After residency, Dr. Chen became a full-time assistant attending and professor at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine. There, he performed complex oral and maxillofacial procedures and played a key role in educating and mentoring dental and surgical residents. He continues to give back to the next generation of clinicians as a part-time volunteer attending at NewYork-Presbyterian.
Today, Dr. Chen brings his extensive academic and surgical experience into the private practice setting, where he is focused on providing compassionate, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs.
