Joshua Goldman is a general dentist who provides family dental care. He has been with East Haddam Dental Associates for several years but has been in practice for nearly 35 years. As a highly trained and skilled dentist, Dr. Goldman is adept in preventing, diagnosing, and treating a wide variety of dental concerns. He is especially equipped in treating gingivitis, periodontal disease, temporomandibular joint disorder, and bruxism. He performs countless dental fillings, root canals, and crowns every year. In addition, Dr. Goldman not only performs general dentistry treatments but restorative procedures such as porcelain veneers, custom bridges, and teeth whitening.
Dr. Goldman completed his undergraduate education at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. After earning his bachelor's degree in biology, he furthered his education at Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. As a DDS, he believes in continuing his education to stay at the forefront of his field. For this reason, he has completed several advanced courses in endodontic treatment, oral surgery, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implants, and much more.

I have been a patient of East Haddam Dental for very many years. I have at all times been treated courteously and professionally. Dr. Stofko and now Dr. Goldman have tended to my teeth with a maximum of skill and a minimum of pain. Dr. Pear has also pitched in in their absence when I had an emergency that could not wait. I have never had an issue with the front desk staff. When I have a problem with a tooth they are always sympathetic and do their best to get me an early appointment to get it fixed. As for wait time, my experience is that I'm usually seated within a few minutes of my appointment. On those rare occasions where I did have to wait it was only for 15 minutes or so. I always figured the Doctor was backed up because someone needed extra help and I was just happy not to be that person. Needless to say I am pleased with the quality of care I've received and intend to stay with East Haddam Dental for the foreseeable future.
Lydia the hygienist was incredible. I have not been to the dentist in a long time and have extremely sensitive gums. She walked me through everything in detail to ease my nerves and helped me feel brave enough to handle the discomfort during the cleaning, which was a bit hard because I have not been flossing due to my sensitive gums. She showed me how to floss properly and assured me that the sensitivity would go away if I can push through and keep my gums clean, that they will heal. She recommended products to help along this oral health journey and the office had several discount flyers up front. The receptionist Sherry is an angel and.so kind and compassionate. The team assured me that we can take it slow and steady to get me back to a healthy place with my teeth and gums. I’m so grateful.
I highly recommend this dental office. The staff was very kind and easy to talk to. Plus they were so patient with me and easy to work with as far as scheduling. It helped that the doctor was so sensitive to my fears regarding discomfort. They bent over backwards to make me feel more comfortable.

The whole team at East Haddam Dental is just phenomenal. From Sherry the receptionist to Dr Goldman, they all really do care and make you feel safe and heard. Lydia who did my dental cleaning was really fabulous, and I didn’t catch the name of the kind woman assisting Dr. Goldman as he did my filling today but she was very informative and helpful. Thank you guys for helping me face my fear of going to the dentist! 💕
